UPDATED Erickson Retirement Community Impact Report
January 2008 Previous message had a bad link.

Earlier in 2007, the village was approached by Erickson Retirement Communities in regard to a 1,200 unit retirement complex proposed to be built in Evendale.  This retirement community is being proposed for the Landmark Property off Glendale-Milford Road on the west side of I 75.  In order for such a development to happen the village would have to modify the zoning of this property as well as other measures with a development of this magnitude.  At that time, Village Council determined it was necessary to obtain more information before considering such a large development.  The Economics Center for Research and Education at the University of Cincinnati were commissioned to prepare an Impact Study.

This impact study includes both positive and negative impacts such as revenues generated from property taxes, earnings tax, inheritance tax as well as expenses such as emergency medical, police, fire and other services.  The report also discusses other aspects worthy of consideration by the village.  The final report is linked below.

Village Council will discuss the report at their January 10, 2008 Council meeting.  This discussion will be with the Economics Center and be focused on the Impact Study and the background information and assumptions used in the report.  At the January 10th Council meeting Council will discuss future meetings and meeting formats to discuss the overall development proposal.

The Council meeting will begin at 7pm in Council Chambers at the Administration Building.  This discussion is scheduled to take place from 7:00pm to 7:30pm.  Public is welcome.

If you cannot access the link below you may obtain a printed copy of the report at the Administration Office or for more information contact Jack Cameron.
